Perhaps my expectations were too high, but this is not an equivalent to 20W halogen G4s. A regular G4 halogen M47 (20W) capsule delivers 300-380 lumens, but this only emits 180 lumens, so to claim that it's a 20W equivalent is a bit much. Also, the stated colour temperature is 3000K, but the shine is a cold yellow lemon, So it's neither clean white like normal G4s (2900-3000K), nor warm yellow like traditional incandescent bulbs (2700K). However, it's acceptable until better G4 LEDs come on the market. At least I shouldn't have to change G4 bulbs in my cooker hood until better ones arrive. My 15 year-old cooker hood seems to eat G4s, and it's always a small nightmare to replace them. So I've switched to LED more for that reason than for energy savings. And although the fit was tight, I managed to get my three discs into the small reflecting half globes and put the glass covers back. The glass covers actually touch the LED elements, but so far that doesn't seem to matter.
