The blues had a baby and they called it Aerosmith,
This review is from: Sweet Emotion: Songs of Aerosmith (Audio CD)
Curiosity caused me to buy this album. I've always loved Aerosmith's more bluesy songs and would love to see Aerosmith do an album of blues covers. In the absence of that though, this is the next best thing.
Some really interesting and sizzling treatments of classic songs. I particularly like the versions of 'Last Child', 'Sweet Emotion', 'Rag doll' and 'Cryin''.
I must admit that I was a little unsure of how songs like 'Walk this way' and 'Dude (looks like a lady)' could be done in a blues style but all the songs covered here work really well.
Only slight criticism is that two of the songs featured weren't written by Aerosmith which makes their inclusion a little bizarre.
