This review is from: Philips Sonicare HX6972/10 FlexCare+ Rechargeable Toothbrush with UV Sanitiser (Personal Care)
I have a lot of gum problems and have been using these top of the range Sonicare brushes for a while. Despite using this brush religiously twice daily, during my latest 3 monthly appointment my hygienist expressed concern at the condition of my gums and amount of plaque that had built up. I asked her about my choice of brush, she advised against using these Sonicare brushes, saying that they are not very effective for removing plaque.
I've been researching brushes and it seems that the oscillating oral B products have been proven to remove more plaque. The Oral B 5000 is also the only brush with the platinum standard from the BDA for its superior plaque removal. I therefore have reservations about the effectiveness of Philips brushes, and will be ditching my month old Philips flexcare brush (my last one stopped working after I dropped it) for an Oral B.
