Can't really complain, works fine but don't use it as much due to having a Pentax K-x digital SLR. The Pentax is not so much a video camera but camera that does macro and high quality video work. The Panasonic videos and photos are OK but nowhere the quality of 12.5 megapixel DSLR. Should have saved the money and put it toward another lens. Correction to above review (July 2013) Having had the chance to use the Panasonic Video Camera HDC-HS60 more extensively I must say my review above did not do justice to the product. I blame the manual. Though only 5 Meg pictures the zoom will give excellent macro pics with superb colours. Spent a long time and lots of wonga buying different DSLR lenses and camera bits when all I really needed was to use this product properly. Could also have saved myself buying a pair of useless very heavy binoculars on ebay. This video camera has a 1500x digital zoom (yes fifteen hundred times, not a typo). That means you can sit in one corner of a room and read the small print of a newspaper from more than 30 feet away. When in video mode, pressing the menu button/record allows the user to select digital zoom to 1500x. It never explains that clearly in the manual and I only learned that from a youtube video comment. Once having taken the video, the software provided allows a single frame to be saved as a single jpeg image. Fiddly yes, but for those wanting to take pictures of nervous critters a great boost for wildlife shots. Spare batteries are needed as the originals only last a couple of hours. Apparently the newer Panasonic video cameras are even better, having a larger optical zoom than the 25x the camera mode has on this version. Have changed my 3 OK to 5 stars Excellent.
