4.0 out of 5 stars Great Brush... Bad Battery, 19 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Braun Oral-B TriZone 1000 (Personal Care)
After reading all the marketing and watching the 3D model videos. I was amazed and intrigued by how clean my teeth could be. There's a pressure sensor that flashes when you are "brushing too hard". However, when I received the toothbrush and began to use it, that's when I realised that the pressure sensor triggers even with little pressure. Now, I'm no muscle man, so when I say "little pressure", I really do mean it.. With the little pressure that I'm applying the light triggers quite often. This may sound like a bad point, but actually, it's very good. I've realised why my old brushes were being "destroyed" so quickly! It looks like I have been using too much pressure.
Anyway, after the 2 minutes are up, my teeth do feel noticably cleaner.. If I could rub my fingers on my teeth like you do on a plate, I'm sure you could hear the squeaky cleaness!!

The bad point, is the battery!! Yes, it says it lasts 8 days if brushed for 2minutes twice a day. It's been 8 days and I still haven't needed to recharge the brush yet, which is great, but the charge time (which I found on day 1) is 18 hours!!! YES EIGHTEEN HOURS... You've got to be kidding me?? I did some research and discovered that normal charging is 16 hours..
Come on!! 32minutes use takes 16 hours to charge!?

IF it weren't for the battery issue, this brush would get a full 5 stars.

Review by Victor Meldrew Mk 2 - In this review in the third paragraph first line three modes are mentioned but the review is related to a single mode product - if the review is the same for both then which of the three modes is that used for the single mode item???? Have noticed this in other reviews where the item tested is not the same as that headlined.

Toothbrushes take so long to charge because they have to be waterproof so you can't physically plug them into something. There is a copper coil inside the charger which creates a magnetic field that your toothbrush just sits on top of. It's very slow and usually impractical but for an electronic device in a bathroom it is essential.

Please don't be put off by the charging.....Once charged the brush will only need charging over night when it next needs charging again.
so it's only 16 to 18 hours for the initial charge. If you are fortunate enough to have a shavers socket in your bathroom then you can leave it on charge all the time.
I am a Dental Hygienist and I have used Oral B Electric brushes for 30 years and recommend them to all my patients every day ! They are brilliant and will keep your gums healthy and long term stop you losing your teeth also you will need less treatment by your dentist as well. It's a great investment ! Good luck.

Sorry, I think you've replied to the wrong review. I never mentioned 3 modes in my review.
