Customer Review

on 26 August 2011
Having read the reviews I was looking forward to this book, but I was terribly disappointed. Really this is a fibre art book - for example, putting your threads in a bath of wallpaper paste and then adding a layer of plastic and creating a kind of fibre art. Very little traditional stitching going on here. The author has taken inspiration from nature (a tree, a cauliflower, etc) and shown examples of how you can recreate the effect with fabric and thread. I'm sure this is a terrific book if you're interested in fairly abstract fibre art, but not if (like me) you are looking for an inspirational take on traditional stitch-making. I think the title of the book is pretty darn misleading, personally.
