So here we have the bare bones of the early NRPS live with Jerry putting in a fair old example of his pedal-steel guitar work. I imagine that this recording of the WEBN-FM live broadcast has remained buried since its broadcast in 1971 as there are certainly a few sonic problems with the sound. Nonetheless this is an interesting historical document for those interested in the band, Jerry, or early country rock music. No doubt anyone who considers purchasing this already has New Riders of the Purple Sage, but if you don't, get one!
The selection of tracks offers a good range of covers and Dawson originals, and certainly runs for a long time, with the band sounding tight and together. At the moment it is a bargain, so snap yourself a copy.
Packaging is a standard plastic box housed in a (superfluous) cardboard slip-case.
