I had the same problem on my Oppo 105, the blu ray went straight to 5.1, no menu seemed to be available to select stereo option. I didn't have time to try playing around with the remote, I'll try again this weekend but for the price I think this is a monumental failure not to have an on screen menu for the blu ray. I mainly bought the set for the blu ray, I doubt I'll even listen to the outakes more than once so I'm pretty disappointed overall. The packaging is pretty weak as well, the outer book that holds the discs fell apart the first time I opened it. It seems that the big music corporations are just doing everything on the cheap to maximize profits. Why not release the blu ray on its own? No way, make the consumer pay through the nose just to get a hi resolution version.
Oct 25 2013. I took Dawghead's advice & found the audio button on my Oppo remote as well as consulting the owner's manual & sure enough if I found the stereo option, it sounds divine. I don't think I'll ever listen to the regular cds ever again after hearing the blu ray audio stereo version, a little expensive but surely worth it. Still, I think an on screen menu would be much easier & more user friendly. For Oppo 105 owners simply press the audio button on the remote & the options for 5.1 or stereo should appear on screen to select from. Hopefully this helps other old school users like myself enjoy this great music on blu ray audio.
