This review is from: Jowett's atlas of railway centres : of Great Britain showing their development from the earliest times up to and including the 1990s. Vol. 1 (Hardcover)
A thoroughly researched work containing excellent large scale colour plans and a total history of the relevant areas railways. The text has a "hand written" look to it, but I am not sure if I like that approach. On balance I may have preferred standard print. That is not to detract from what has obviously been a labour of love judging by the meticulous detail. The volume, published in 1993, as in all things, has lived through some changes and so is a work of that time. There would appear to have been plans for a series similar to this one featuring other areas, these have not yet come to fruition. Well worth obtaining for any rail enthusiast.
