Customer Review

on 15 November 2013
Oh dear
The plot is terrible yet another invasion by the borg ,yet again picard must journey to the delta quadrant to stop it .
No Romulans this time round ,only three playable characters in story mode and what a terrible unoriginal story it is.
The klingon story involves the occupation of Cardassia??the entire federation fleet being destroyed in a sneak attack,Somehow?
The borg missions don't let you use all there abilities until the game is nearly over ,pointless having them at all.
The so called improvements are all to the detriment of the game.
Instead of one annoying resource to manage you now have three money (which the federation doesn't have except in this game)
metal and dilithium.Shame they don't have replicators in star trek or all this mining would be redundant right?
Managing resources is a substantial part of the game and a really annoying and unsatisfying part of the game.
Ships are a hell of a lot more vulnerable this time round so the only tactic you'll need is to swarm the enemy with cannon fodder ships which now dont give much clue there about to explode until they do.Getting a fleet of course will be the real battle as you'll spend 90% of your time looking for moons to mine and waiting to build up enough resources for another ship.Shame they didn't call it Star Trek:Resource Manager.

Twitchy as hell, the AI makes the ships jump to warp for the tiniest trip so they constantly flash into high speed to no speed which is highly annoying sometimes.
AI default settings mean the ships will stray into enemy fire or dangerous nebulae despite your best efforts or pursue a ship back to his base and quickly get destroyed all before you knew they'd left the area you assigned them.

Over all i would say the franchise ended one game too late,
avoid this mess
