'The Bad Mother' has an intriguing - and compelling - story. It's a real page turner once you get past the first hundred or so pages; these seemed a trifle slow to me, but in retrospect they do set up all that is to come. The next three hundred pages change from being something you need to persevere with a bit to being utterly compelling. It's the sort of book that makes me wish to put the author on my Amazon 'automatic buy' list for forthcoming titles. Enjoyed it a lot. I did not completelyconnect with the characters of Isabelle Grey's previous book but still enjoyed it: "The Bad Mother" is streets ahead - everything clicks into place.
