A good premise and bloody good storytelling! You wouldn't expect it, because the book is a cheap printing, possibly printed to order from an e-book. Don't let that put you off. This is as good as any slickly packaged commercial sci-fi book. At the same time, it reminds me of some of those golden age books (Heinlein, Lensman etc) where the hero faces off against the world. Now I have to wait impatiently for the sequel!
