I've become slightly addicted to M E Braddon. This isn't one of her best, but it still kept me hooked throughout a week of commuting. This one is partly set in bohemian Paris which adds some welcome local colour. This novel is slightly unusual in that the heroine gets married quite early on but is then 'tempted' by someone she formerly had a crush on. Quite a risque plotline for a Victorian novel I think... I found the ending rather sad but won't say more than this as one of the pleasures of this author is trying to guess how the plot twists will work out. One downside of this Kindle edition is the many typos, in particular 'Lovel' keeps getting turned into 'Level' - but then again it is free, so can't complain too much.
