This review is from: A Duke by Default (Kindle Edition)
I would have given this more stars had there been more attention to detail in the editing. Apart from the conversation the duke apparently had with himself that was mentioned before, apparently confusion over the estate being run by a girl was because Harri was short for Jonathan! I could have forgiven this but the whole premise of Harri being the illegitimate daughter of the former duke apparently takes place in a time warp. Harri's mother and the old duke fall in love but he can't marry her because he needs to marry for money which he proceeds to do. Meanwhile he finds out his love is pregnant and marries her off to Aston. So far so good except now we meet the timewarp. We are told the current duke is 28. His cousin, the old duke's son who is dead, was two years older, making him 30 if he had lived. We also learn that Harri is nearly 20, so presumably her mother was pregnant for ten years, poor woman, because she was the baby expected when the duke married for money so she should be older than his son surely? This inattention to detail really bugs me, the author or editor should have spotted this flaw and fixed it.
