2.0 out of 5 stars Film OK but packaging dreadful, 3 Aug. 2011
By
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: L'Age d'or + Un Chien Andalou [DVD + Blu-ray] [1930] (Blu-ray)
Be warned, when my copy arrived I couldn't open the case. I found a tear-off strip to start getting the plast ic off (I thought). Tore it off and proceeded to remove plastic. Then I found I was actually tearing off the plastic cover and the paper insert fell out. OK it doesn't affect the quality of the film but the case is ruined. Surely lousy design like this shouldn't happen these days. Five stars for movie, zero for packaging.

It's probably worth noting that there's no physical difference between the packaging of this release and that of any other BFI dual-format release - and indeed similar dual-format releases on other labels (such as Masters of Cinema). So if you haven't had a problem with those, you won't have a problem with this.

I've had no such problems with mine, the case is completely normal.

So the good people who have discussed the packaging... (one mentioning 5 stars for the film).. I would LOVE to know what people actually thought of the wonderful film!! The art is in the film, not the packaging!! Peace :-)))

When you buy a product from Amazon there is always a Feedback section provided which is precisely where issues regarding broken items / bad service / poor packaging / late deliveries etc ought to laid out and where you can vent your frustrations. I for one am not interested in the fact that you do not appear to have the basic skills required to open a case. It certainly has no bearing on whether this film is a good one or not.
To clarify:
THE REVIEW SECTION IS FOR A REVIEW OF THE ACTUAL FILM.
The clue is in the section title - 'Customer Review'. Thank you and goodnight.
