Good Blade but...,
First things first, the blade on this thing is wicked. Good steel, it comes with a good edge and one which is relatively easy to maintain.
The problem comes with the handle. After about 30 minutes of use, the first one of these slashers that we bought snapped off at the rivet, thanks to the rivet having buckled sideways when it was put in, meaning that under any use more strenuous than clearing stinging nettles (such as clearing brambles which was what did it in), the split in the wood already introduced by manufacture turned into a full on break.
So we returned it, bought a new one. 30 minutes later, it failed, in EXACTLY the same way, for the exact same reasons. At this point we gave up, went out, bought a sledgehammer handle and with a bit of work with a plane and some emery cloth, fitted it to the blade with some bolts. Subsequently, this thing's gotten a lot of use, hence how I now how vicious the blade is.
My recommendation, don't buy it. It just costs too much for just a blade and mounting.
