5.0 out of 5 stars Madonna at her very best, 20 Jan. 2013
This review is from: Something To Remember (Audio CD)
This is, in my opinion, by far Madonna's best album to date. The songs are powerful and definitely have stood the test of time. I still enjoy this album just as much as I did when I first heard it all those years ago. I particularly love the songs - "something to remember" and "you'll see" which I think are masterpieces.

A good album for anyone, even if you are not a big Madonna fan.

M. Armstrong says:
I completely agree. This is also my favourite Madonna album and the one I play most frequently. Unlike her recent and current releases this material is such high quality that it has and will continute to stand the test of time. It sounds just as good today as it did when it was first released.

It simply has just so many great tracks on it like " I Want You " (especially the haunting orchestral version ), " Crazy For You ", "Live To Tell ", " Forbidden Love ", " Rain " and " Take A Bow ". The exquisite remix version of " Love Don't Live Here Anymore " that is included is vastly superior to the original album version on " Like A Virgin ". It elevates the track to a much higher level with the added introduction of acoustic piano which creates a better and more suitable atmosphere to the track.

As superb as the album is overall the undoubted highlights of it and the two tracks that warrant special mention are the phenomenal " You'll See " and " This Used To Be My Playground ". These must surely be two of Madonna's finest recordings ever.

Both absolute gems in Madonna's catalogue. Exceptional and powerful lyrics and both outstanding performances from her. Timeless classics.

This is Madonna at her absolute best and she certainly has given us " Something To Remember " here.
