This review is from: The Physics Of The Dead - A Supernatural Mystery Novel (Kindle Edition)
Having read much of Luke Smitherd's writing, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to understand why no major publisher has picked up on his work. OK. A few corrections are required in the text and layout. This is probably most notable in "The Physics of the Dead," but surely, any editor worth his salt could sort that out. A soaring imagination coupled with an often breathtaking insight into the human condition bear comparison with anything I've read by published authors. i e. The description of the hurt caused by the marraige breakdown in this book is heartbreaking and truly the best I ever read.
Stick with the first person narrative Luke!
Like many of my friends, I own a Kindle, but also buy paperbacks. I know damn well how much easier it is to find a book you like that way! I can only hope we see his name on the bookshelves SOON!

Hi ST, thanks for the great review. Glad that you noticed that TPOTD has the most errors, as that's the one I haven't had professionally proofread yet! :-) To be fair to the publishing industry, other than TPOTD I haven't sent any other work off to anyone, and I'm not making enough waves in terms of sales for anyone to notice me. It's something I keep thinking about doing, but then I see small-time writers who HAVE been published (and I would indeed be small time if/when I had my first book published) with so few reviews and sales because the prices are set so high. For now, I feel like my best chance of making a name for myself come from the self-publishing/kindle game. However, if things haven't changed much for the better (writing career-wise) in the next year or so, I might well have changed my mind!
