I have to admit, I do like 'Spooks' a lot, but thought this in some ways, far superior. I have watched all three series and was left wanting more. I have read that this really is regarded as the best espionage series ever made as regards realism. The stories usually are just about a defector or a fairly straighforward case of spying, but a number of them pose a moral dilemma. Neil Burnside is a superb character as is his father-in-law, a Whitehall mandarin. The casualty rate of the Sandbaggers is high and the last episode ends on a tragic note.
