excellent (with a few quirks),
This review is from: Fujifilm X-Pro1 16 MP Digital Camera with APS-C X-Trans CMOS Sensor (Body Only) (Camera)
Ive owned a few camera over the years; d80, d300, samsung nx10, numerous compacts and ive used a sony nex 5 and canon 450d for a few days each. I currently own a nikon d700 (full frame) and now the x pro 1 (for about 3 months).
The most surprising think for me is the image quality, in its base iso it is clearly BETTER than the d700 for jpegs!
Shooting RAW then they are pretty close.
the second thing that surprised me was the low light performance, really close to the d700, the d700 does win with a fast lens eg the 50mm f1.4 but it's really not far behind with the 35mm f1.4
-wonderful jpegs with excellent colour and clarity
-Outstanding high iso performance far better than any aps-c camera ive used before (not far behind the d700)
-Robust/ great build quality
-Lovely retro feel
-Nice lay out for most important buttons
-6 fps and a pretty good buffer
-some very good fujinon lens available (sharp)
-discrete and light but nice to grip (not too small)
- af nowhere near as bad a they make out in fact really not bad at all (maybe not a pro but not con either)
-OVF seems pretty pointless to me (v bad parallax error in anything remotely close)
-start up ~1-1.5 sec not too bad but could better
-really feel the lens are a bit over priced in general compared to nikon and canon aps-c equivalents
-Raw files currently only have sub-optimal converters
-no third party lens (yet!)
- aps-c so less bokeh potential than full frame
overall im very happy with this camera, it doesn't total replace the d700 for me, but i now shoot it more often than the d700 which has surprised me.
