THE TRUE CONSOLE KING HAS RETURNED,
This review is from: Sony PlayStation 3 Console (60GB Premium Version) (Video Game)
I was one of the playstation faithful standing outside a shop at 6:50 on friday waiting to buy a playstaion 3 and I have to say it was worth the wait!
I am lucky enough to have had the spare cash to buy both the wii and the xbox360 when they were released but to be fair I was only waiting for the ps3 to make its (very late)entrance onto the market.
I got the console and two games (fall of man and need for speed carbon)
The console itself is easy to set up and the same amount of hoops to jump through to sign up to the playstion network as you do for xbox live.
Once I was set up I downloaded GT HD and ridge racer which are both amazing games and look incredible.
The pad is so light weight it does not feel real and the R2 and L2 triggers feel a bit weird at first but its easy to get used to.
I have got a HDTV so setting up the console to the tv is far more easy than it is setting up the xbox360, you can choose which cable the sound goes out of so setting up the ps3 to your surround sound it beyond simple.
Now there are going to be ALOT of people against the ps3 for a number of reasons, (sony being cocky about releasing the ps3 in the first place, aborted release dates, not the best starting line up of games, and to be fair the price is high!)
but people need to remember what microsoft where selling the xbox360 at when it was released! and to be fair the xbox360 does not have half the options that the ps3 has!
Also one final point, microsoft is having some fun at sonys expense about the ps3 being late but has anyone noticed that halo 3's release has been moved again to late november!
Overall a fine machine and whilst a bit pricy it is well worth it.
