As a Poet,He's a Great Song Writer.,
This review is from: The Book of Longing (Hardcover)
If you're a Leonard Cohen fan(which I kind of am,which is why I bought this book)then you'll probably like it a lot more than me,but all I kept longing for was another book to read.
There are some good poems, but there is a lot of repetitive themes and mediocre poems as well.
At least it's given me confidence that even I could write poems just as good,if not better.
Thanks Leonard, but I'll stick to Bukowski for my poetry.

An informative and interesting brief, Brizdaz. As a long time cohen fan and mediocre poet myself, i've loyally been settling for Cohen's repetition in theme and music, in poetry and song. I am inspired to look at Bukowski and not to buy this book in a hurry!

Susan, don't be put off by my review. If you're a Leonard Cohen fan it is still a book worth having on your bookshelf. The drawings are worth the price alone.I just found the poetry a little tiresome after a while...but that's just my opinion.Others here obviously love his poetry by the reviews they give the book.
