Customer Review

on 24 May 2002
Not quite sure what to make of this one. 22 songs written around headlines taken from trashy tabloids - hence the song titles. It sounds like it should be a novelty album, and the lyrics are the right kind of cheesy doggerel for one, but the music veers from the odd to the unsettling. I heard a track from this on Xfm and loved it at the time. I can't even begin to work out which one it was, or why I thought it was so good. It's certainly not an instantly likeable CD, but it could be one of those which grows on you in time.
