One for todays entrepreneur,
This review is from: The Mom Test: How to talk to customers & learn if your business is a good idea when everyone is lying to you (Paperback)
As a founder at the early stage of my first tech startup i am currently reading a new book a week to get me prepared for this new world. I can confidently say reading the Mom Test made the most impact and returned the most value. You would be mad not to read this book if you have an idea, just starting up or are struggling with users returning to your new product. A simple question the book forces you to ask is, does your Idea pass the Mom Test? A true test to see if you have a great idea. Honestly when you have an idea, 99% of your friends and family will lie to you that its great.....especially if you annoy them enough!
The Mom Test is practical, easy to read and very short with a specific customer development message of how you talk to customers effectively. There are many reasons you should read this book if you are starting a new company. For my team this book helped us validate aspects of our idea that clearly none of our customers cared about. Without reading this book we would have asked the wrong questions and ultimately built the wrong product.
For me the best customer development book!..Steve Blank tells us why we should do it, Rob Fitzpatrick shows us how to.
