I really enjoyed reading about the life of John Wheatley as often he is referred in numerous Labour Biographies as the only success in the Cabinet in the first Labour Government.
Although not a weighty sized book but none the less I found it very informative, the book did not touch much on his personal life but as it was written in 1988 biographies in that era tends not to delve too much into personal relationships and possible peccadilloes unlike modern biographies.
I would highly recommend this book if like me you enjoy reading about Labour Party Cabinet Ministers.
