I do a lot of walking, whether it's simply walking a couple miles to town, or whether it's walking through fields and meadows for the exercise. For years I've just stuck with wearing cheap trainers, but more often than not I'll end up with some sort of pain in my feet. This ranges from trainers rubbing against the back of the ankle, to pressing against the top of the foot and bruising it, to hurting the bottom of the foot due to lack of cushioning on the soles of the shoe.
So I finally decided to spend a lot of money on a pair of boots designed to be comfortable no matter how far you walk. I couldn't be happier with them. They fit like a glove; they are very soft and warm inside, and they are very well cushioned. Because they are a boot they won't rub the back of my ankle, and there's no chance they'll cause pain to any other part of the foot either.
The moral I suppose is it's better to pay a little extra for something that'll last a long time while doing the job well, rather than buying cheaper stuff that in the long run will cost more due to buying replacements and also damage your feet because they are poorly made. Just wish I'd bought these sooner
