This review is from: The Sisters Brothers (Paperback)
What can I say? It's sheer magic how black marks on white paper can transport one back to the West in 1851 and make you feel entirely as if you were there, acquaint you with these two incredible characters Charlie and Eli Sisters, professional killers, and get you to sympathize with them and keep reading on and on and on... I just couldn't stop. Charlie and Eli meet a whole host of quite simply unbelievable and yet entirely credible people, the dialogues are crisp and at times heartbreakingly sad, at other times morbidly humorous, and underneath it all there's Eli's heartfelt quest for a better life. One of the best books I've read in a very long while.
