If you like the security and speed of a wired network, rather than wireless, then this little box from Netgear is an inexpensive and easy to set up option. The unit is very compact - little more than the width of the eight sockets - so there would be no room to fit the power socket on the same side to have made it slightly neater. One of the sockets is needed to connect to your firewall or internet connection, if required, leaving seven for other devices. For small businesses this is useful for connecting your computers together; for home use it can increase the connectivity of you router to accommodate a Sky+ HD box, Blu-ray player, Squeezebox, Desk Top PC or any other device you don't want to, or can't, run wirelessly. The power lead from the supplied power unit even has an inline switch for easy access in case you plug it into an inaccessible power socket - nice touch! Good looking, nicely made and great value there is not much to say against this little box - five stars and a recommended to those looking for an alternative to WiFi.
