Very handy-I have to buy it again.,
This review is from: Chemistry for the Biosciences: The essential concepts (Paperback)
Sadly I've lost my previous copy of this book.
However it's good enough for me to buy it a second time around.
You move quickly through the basics and find that various mysterious concepts in chemistry become quite clear, fairly rapidly for only an investment of a few short hours of your time. Terms like Valence Shell Electron Pair Repulsion theory are made clear as are orbitals and all the other minor mysteries of basic chemistry.
I have a number of much larger chemistry books on my shelves, however this is the one to pull out for a quick lesson on the basics. I would say that it's aimed at A level rather than university.
I have used it for tutoring, and found it nicely laid out for that. The only thing that would improve it would be more colour. However this is a minor detail.
