This book conveys a remarkable amount of information about a fascinating subject. It explains in detail, but simply, what ice cream was and what it is, its origins, manufacture, display and sale. Throughout, the excellent illustrations are relevant and revelatory, enlarging a reader's understanding of the text. All in all, a necessary book for the shelf of anyone interested in food history, domestic history or just ice cream. I look forward to future books in this series by the same author.
