Another exercise in illiterate nonsense,

My relationship with Kernick is extremely perverse.
I keep buying his books hoping to understand why he sells.
Perhaps this is how he makes his living - from buyers who can't believe that anybody so devoid of taste and literary expertise can make their living this way and consequentially perpetrate the myth with curiosity purchases.
Happily I didn't have to part with my hard earned wonga on this occasion. My eldest son passed it my way. Frankly I wish he hadn't. Nothing has changed since Kernick's last monstrosity. Save the fact that apart from being in London with an unbelievable plot, cardboard characters and endless unbelievable violence we are now in Scotland with more of the same.
His fan's praise his tight plotting, great characters and fast pace. To be honest, I think he gives them somebody else's work to read then stuffs us with this dross.
Redeeming features zero - avoid like the plague and buy Ratlines by Stuart Neville. Now there's a guy who can write fast moving literate fiction!
