An interesting read but a bit in your face political at times,

This review is from: Wing Chun Warrior: The True Tales of Wing Chun Kung Fu Master Duncan Leung, Bruce Lee's Fighting Companion (Paperback)
I liked the book and the stories in it. Although the author, writing about Duncan Leung, often draws to overly profound meanings from absolutely everything which is un-necessary. The illustrations made a fantastic addition to the book and its stories. However rather than focusing on the stories and ideas the book often goes on about deep meanings that I feel are just not there.
What really spoiled the book for me is the occasional (not even very subtle) personal attacks on other well respected Wing Chun masters (like Ip Mans son's) the comments are without any grounding and come from the story of a man who only trained with Ip Man when he was a teenager for a few years. It does not add to the book and only undermines respect for Duncan in my (al be it bias) opinion.
In short worth a read but I wouldn't recommend it.
