"Scorpion" was Spike Milligan's first book of serious poetry. As well as some new (for 1972) material, there are a selection of poems he wrote during the war, or during his nervous breakdown in the 1950s. Some of it is rather dark but it retains Milligan's unique and brilliant comic viewpoint on life. Some of the poems are very moving.
There's not a lot of text in all (it won't take you half a hour to read it) but this is a book that really shows Milligan's depth of thought.
