Archos Smart Home Phone First let me say it does appear to be an expensive home phone compared to the cheap DECT phones around. In my opinion IT IS NOT, you are getting so much more than a bog standard phone. This is a WI-FI terminal, house phone, Skype Phone and so much more. If you add up the cost of all the separate items would cost it starts to look a very good value for money purchase. I have read criticism for the plastic case, but compared to what? Regular house phones are made of very cheap plastic, this is at least good quality plastic. It is NOT intended to be a ROBUST MOBILE phone, it is a domestic dwelling device. I was so impressed with the first one I purchased, that within a day of arrival I had purchased a second for my Motorhome, which has a GSM Terminal system that enables me to use it as a mobile phone. The uses of this phone are only restricted by your imagination and availability of an android application. It even has facilities to enable you to use it for testing if you wish to develop your own applications. This is at the forefront of what is considered by many a dead market, that of the land line user, I disagree and feel where Archos lead other are following. Namely PANASONIC, though they have yet to deliver.
