This review is from: Confessions of a Vampire's Girlfriend (Paperback)
Waited a long time to get these 2 stories - only recently came to Katie MacAlister's books and had difficulty finding these 2, at a realistic price. Don't be fooled by the fact it's "heroine" is a 16/17 year old, it reads well, and there's another book to follow on as she reaches her 20s. The Dark Ones are explained, as is the Beloved, there's a glossery in the back for those who haven't read any of her Dark Ones novels - written as Katie MacAlister - or who forget - so it's a good reference! Great that they were published together, as the stories are only 1/2 months apart. Synopsis - the daughter of a (good) witch is forced by her mother to join her on her European travels with a goth fair full of interesting characters. There she meets with a Dark One (vampire, but don't call them that to their face) who informs her she is his "beloved" - his mate and the only person who can redeem his soul. In the 2nd story she manages to raise a group of Vikings and has to find a way to send them to Valhalla!
