Customer Review

on 6 June 2011
For those not familar with some of Mark Waids work he wrote Kingdon Come. Wildly seen as one of the greatest grpahic novles and deconstructions of the superhero mythos.
Here Waid does it again....you could summise the plot thus:- "What is Superman got a bit fed up with the human race".

From the opening scenes of descruction to the end pages the book reads one part mystery and one part survivalist horror as the remaining "good" superhores and former friends of the Plutonian try and saty both alive and on the move and look for his weaknesses.

It is a fantastci read reministing of the blockbuster style seen in Wildstorm and Ultimate comics with lush artwork by Peter Krause. It probably didnt get the press it needed with it being from Boom Studios but this is every bit an independant smash that shows people not just the big 2 (DC and MArvel) can offer fresh perspective on the Super hero genre.
