4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, 13 Aug. 2012
This review is from: Samsung T27B300 27 inch Widescreen LED TV/Monitor with Digital TV Tuner - Gloss Black (Full 1080P, Dolby Digital +, HDMI, VGA, USB, Scart) (Electronics)
Fairly happy with this. Picture quality is fine, but there are a few drawbacks - firstly as already noted, the power lead is ridiculously short - absolutely useless unless the power socket is right behind the TV.

There is no audio out on this model, so if you use the built-in TV tuner (which I'm not using) there is no alternative but to have the audio through the built-in speakers. Not that the sound quality is so bad, but obviously not up to the standard of putting it through a hi-fi amplifier.

Otherwise, pretty good.

Get a 3.5mm Jack to stereo phono patch lead available from amazon for a few quid and connect the headphone socket of the TV to your amp. Not a very elegant solution but works pretty well. Set the volume level of the TV to about 50% and then use the amps volume as the master control. A lot of HD TV's don't cater for analogue audio, a more expensive solution would be to buy a AV amp so that you can run the sound down the HDMI cable.

I'm wondering about the sound quality from this TV/monitor, rated against ye olde good quality TV's ??... eg a concert or movie from HDMI input (eg satellite box or bluray player in my case). Thanks in advance for any details available :)
