4.0 out of 5 stars Great but....., 25 Jan. 2010
This review is from: Emprex 9051H + 883U KIT Ultimate Gaming Bundle (Electronics)
This product is great!!

First off the mouse in this bundle is very nice, the mouse fits nicely in any hand and changes colours from green to blue to red. Green being the lowest DPI setting and red being the highest. There is also a nice very flexible mouse mat which appears to have a slight glow in the dark. The 2 buttons on the sides of this mouse are good but for me (a right handed person) the button on the right of the button is hard to access and i dont use it in games.

The keyboard is one of the best i have seen. The material it is made from is plastic but around the sides the plastic appears to be coated in a soft-ish rubbery material. But do not be put off the plastic keyboard like most other keyboards looks very stylish and not tacky at all!! The lighting show is great when playing music it changes to all sorts of colours and appears to be changing to the music itself. The gaming numpad was hard to get used to but its very nice once you have, it has the ability to swivel around to fit your hands best position.

BUT be warned this does not work with Windows 7. I have written to Emprex requesting an Windows 7 update but so far no luck. When i say the keyboard does not work with Windows 7 i mean for me the keyboard and mouse work great and function perfect with the DPI changing when i press the button. But the dynamic lightshow software which changes the lighting to the music does not work(will not install from the CD). I still get the lighting changing colours but not to the sound on my PC which is disapointing.

You have marked the bundle down because it is not certified with windows 7. If it works with other op systems surely its not the fault of the product manufacturer, but Microsofts?...

Or maybe you shudda done your homework first?...

As a general rule I believe marking it down for not being Win 7 compatible is absoloutely justified considering many manufacturers are providing Win 7 on ALL of their new build computers.

Thanks William great review, I have win 7 and would have brought the product not knowing it was not going to work.

Thanks
