Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I am a senior executive at a 50-strong international charity. We are young and looking to grow significantly in the next few years. We have a great team of senior leaders and an excellent board. However, there is still much that we are learning as we do - which is no bad thing.
With John Wells' book, however, we have been able to learn from one of the greatest minds around and able to put into place much more robust strategies around our growth plans, our organisational structure (from an HR and IT perspective) and also how we develop our people to be more effective as individuals and a team.
I wouldn't say that this is an altogether easy book to read though there are some helpful and insightful stories of how large MNC's got it right or wrong. Might as well learn from other peoples mistakes!
There are lots of models that allow for robust discussion among senior leadership. I would definitely recommend that if you are reading it, you read it along with your leadership team and make time to discuss each chapter or section on a monthly basis.
Hope that helps.
