Sensible and practical dietary advice for IBD patients,
By A Customer
This review is from: New Eating Right for a Bad Gut: The Complete Nutritional Guide for Ileitis, Colitis, Crohn's Disease and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Paperback)
This book contains clear and logical dietary advice for IBD patients. I am a Crohn's patient and the book explained to me subjects such as the difference between soluble and insoluble fibre and why mutlivitamin supplementation can be helpful in IBD. The main message of the book is to increase the amount Omega-3 fatty acid in the diet in order to promote the production of anti-inflammatory cell signalling chemicals over inflammatory ones, and the author is realistic about the quantity of Omega-3 required to affect this result. Whilst the author's style is quite repititious the advice in the book is very practical. It is easily the best book on IBD nutrition I have read.
