Customer Review

on 22 September 2013
We purchased this iron from a now defunct retail outlet, who told us when it went faulty the FIRST time we needed to deal directly with Hoover Candy warranty department, what a fiasco they sent the most inept man they could find, who after picking the iron up announced "what do want me to do? i have never seen one of these before" and after a bewildered and cursory examination,ho told us "you are using the wrong water, you need to buy a brita filter for water for this iron" this was after the iron started spurting hot water all over the room , he kept holding it in the air and pressing the steam release till he got just steam and then announced it was "Fixed" and left.
The SECOND Time the inept one turned up was after the iron failed again, three days later; dirty marks, spitting hot water and wet patches all over the item to be ironed; he proceeded to fiddle with it and then placed the hot iron face down on my carpet, leaving a precise impression of the sole plate in my carpet, which after filling out their 5 page insurance claim form several months ago and submitting pictures of the mark, hoover candy have not responded at all, i think small claims court next. The defective iron was then eventually collected and returned to hoover candy.
A replacement iron arrived and was immediately faulty, it being an obvious return and not a new iron we then called again and new engineer who was much better than the inept one pronounced it faulty and said he would recommend a tested replacement. After a considerable amount of time we received the third iron, which proved to be ok, and new, we immediately sold it at a loss and vowed never to purchase anything with the Hoover Candy label again.
