3.0 out of 5 stars First Impressions: Disappointing, 30 Sept. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Panasonic Lumix TZ10 Digital Camera - Black (12.1MP, 12x Optical Zoom) 3.0 inch LCD (Camera)
Lumix DMC TZ10
I went for the TZ 10 rather than the TZ7 so that I wouldn't always be wondering what I was missing by not having the GPS. As always, the Amazon speed of delivery and packaging was impressive, although no longer a novelty. Panasonic have produced a beautifully designed device with all the buttons and knobs in the right places, unlike my point and click Sony which has given up the ghost - and shows me nothing but ghostly images! :-)
That's the good part. I thought that 15 MB of internal memory would be enough to get me started, but after taking two - yes, that's it, only two - pictures, I got the 'BUILT-IN MEMORY FULL' message, even with the GPS disabled. :-(
This means that the camera is of very limited use without supplementary memory and I would have expected some sort of memory card to have been included in the package. Naturally, none of the Sony accessories - battery, memory cards - are compatible, so now I'm waiting for a memory card. :-(
Meanwhile, there is the CD-ROM as a consolation prize with which to occupy myself. It promises much.
First impressions: disappointing.

It's not realistic to expect 15MB of internal memory meet your needs on a camera taking 12MP images, perhaps you mistook it for 15GB?
Every digital camera I have ever owned has required me to buy a large capacity card . Why mark this one down for being the same as every other on the market?

I have to agree with rommels cat. I previously had a Sony and had to buy the card separately. I then bought a Samsung and same again. Most recently bought the TZ7 (best camera I've had... so far!!) and it did not come with a card although some sellers do sell packages with cards and other accessories included. If you are relying on the internal memory then suggest you dial down the quality and thus the file size. Looking to buy this camera for my daughter and looks good from the reviews on the actual performance of the camera.

Its just plain common sense to buy a memory card beforehand, how small do you expect a 12mp file to be? Another poor review
