This book is well written and helps you to think about all aspects of starting/continuing meditation practice,. I really like the fact that he talks about the 'real' experience of meditation and how we can and do become distracted and the like, but how to overcome this. Acknowledging the pitfalls and difficulties headlong makes the practice of mediation achievable. It is serious, but also a light-hearted read and clear to understand, A downside for me is that he does often use a good number of analogies to make the same point, which may or may not be useful. Overall, for me it is the first book I have found regarding mediation, that explains about the practical aspects of how to acquire this skill and how to overcome the barriers that are likely to occur during the process.
