5.0 out of 5 stars Would Highly Recommend !!!, 9 Dec. 2009

This review is from: Asus O!Play HD 1080P HDP-R1 Live Internet Media Streamer (Electronics)
Before owning the Asus I had the WD TV I had nothing but trouble with it, since the WD TV didn't have a DTS decoder I had to convert all my MKV's to AC3 audio format. When playing them back on the WD TV the audio was totally out of sync but the file plays back fine on the PC (Bit Odd).

In the end I sent back the WD TV and bought the Asus which has a DTS decoder, now I don't have to any converting on the videos as it can play MKV's with DTS audio with no sync issues :)

Overall the Asus is a bit more expensive than the WD TV but I would recommend it due to the fact it's got a DTS decoder and also it's a live internet streamer. The menu structure is a bit basic compared to the WD TV but it's still very easy to navigate.

Also it can play Blu ray ISO's if it's just the main movie only! It can't handle a full blu ray ISO with the menu structure etc.... but hopefully a new firmware update will correct that.

Are you sure about this? The WD website definitely mentions that it can decode DTS:
