NOT the edition to purchase (unless...),
Verified Purchase(What is this?)

This is a small, pocket-sized edition of Carroll's classic. It has NO illustrations whatsoever, and frankly, there's one and only one reason you might wish to purchase it (well, TWO reasons, if you happen to like the cover illustration by Trevor Brown).
This version comes with a very short introductory essay by Jeremy Reed. It doesn't cover any new ground, just ties the Alice story in with mid-20th century drug taking and rock music. It also rehashes some of the old (and in my view, anachronistic) arguments about whether Carroll's interest in young girls was - to say the least - unhealthy.
As you'll see, the cover illustration reflects these trends, showing a slightly psychedelic view of a doll-like, unpleasantly sexualized Alice falling through space.
If, like me, you're a Collector of Alice stuff, you might want to add this to your collection for curiosity value. Otherwise this is emphatically NOT the edition to buy - treat yourself to a more innocent version, with pictures!!
