Utterly sick of running ear/headphones that cost 15-20 quid and last a few months (or weeks in a couple of cases) I contemplated the unthinkable-60 quid on a pair of these. I did my research, they were consistently in the top 10 runners' headphones so I had some confidence in them. Are they worth the money? It depends on your POV....on the face of it-not on your bloody nelly are they worth 60 squid of your hard earned. If you take the attitude that it's the same as getting through 3 pairs of 20 quid headphones a year (runners will know that's entirely possible)-and they last over a year then they are probably worth it. They look great. Some reviewers have the opposite opinion on the colour and style, but my opinion is they look great. They are REALLY comfortable, with just enough grip to hold them in place. They sound good (no more than good, but then they don't NEED to sound any better). The wire genuinely doesn't tangle (weird!) and there is the option of having long or short wire depending on whether the MP3 player is in a pocket of on an armband. Oh and the wire only goes to the left can, another nice touch. On the downside, the much boasted about removable (and washable) ear cushions are fiddly to get off and even worse to get back on-due to the fear of me snapping off the little lugs that snap the ear cushions back on I don't remove them at all-instead I blot the sweat out of them with kitchen towel-the sponge is really good at wicking the moisture out of them. Another reviewer mentioned the strange "ear shape" to them, rather than them being round and to me it is odd that more headphones are not this shape-they fit the shape of my ears very well. Finally, they don't make me run faster :-( 3 MONTHS LATER...Still performing well. Looking more like value for money. Come on Philips, 3 more months!!
