This review is from: Duran Duran's Red Carpet Massacre (Audio CD)
This must rate as one of the most curious experiences ever committed to CD. Apparently the product of record company tampering, the record company being concerned that there were not potential singles available with material that the band had been working on. The band were talked into bringing in Timberland as producers and starting again with all new material. But this reviewer hardly considers it a marriage made in heaven. Apart from the occasional track, 'Falling down' for example, I find this album incredibly hard to listen to. Despite the band often looking to expand their range with innovative material, something I very much admire them for, they remain identifiable musically. But this is about as untypical Duran Duran album as one could imagine in one's wildest nightmares. I give it two stars on the basis of it being different, but that's about all!
