The rat trap arrived in good time and was well packaged. It's a little cheap but will do the job. The trap is simple to set-up and it's operation is pretty much foolproof. So, the next day, I set it up - where we regularly see a rat. I baited it with a bit of roast chicken. There was one false operation (if the trap is knocked from the outside it will operate) but the evening of the second day the rat was caught. When the door drops there is a spring-clip that should have a quarter of an inch or so protruding at the top (allowing you to open the door again) but the cheapness of construction means that this clip drops out of reach - making it quite hard to open the door again - especially when there is an extremely annoyed rat inside... which is why I only give the trap 4 stars. A practice run would make the opening operation much easier. Releasing the rat was harder than you think, too. Because, having spent a good half an hour frantically trying to escape (by by burrowing through the door), when I finally opened the door and held the trap vertical, the rat decided to hold on to the bars and hung there like it was in training for the next Olympic gymnastics event! . Overall, a suitable product for catching rats (or whatever) unharmed..
A second rat caught (and released far away) a few days later. No more evidence of rats so 'job done' and no rats were harmed in the making of this review.
