Customer Review

on 1 April 2012
When I started reading this I wasn't sure what to expect or think. Teenagers going to war, being brought up on war games, I thought it would be a kids novel with a Hollywood idea of war but, the reality of it is that this is very dark reading.

The children are sent off to the frontline and then expected to behave in a way that todays, adult, soldiers behave. On top of that they are put in trenches similar to those of WW1. It is harrowing reading at times, not because of it being overly violent but because the perpetrators are children and teens who don't have a choice. Add to that the fact that there a few, if any, adults around and this becomes even more sinister.

A really good and thought provoking story in my humble opinion.
