Disapointing entry to the Paper Mario series,
This review is from: Paper Mario Sticker Star (Nintendo 3DS) (Video Game)
If you enjoyed the previous Paper Mario games from the N64 & Gamecube like I did then you're in for a disapointment. 99% of things that made the original games great is not present here. There is very little story, the game is broken up in to stages (Super Mario World style) so the open world element is gone, no partners (aside from an annoying talking sticker who provides useless advise), and there is virtually ZERO RPG elements which after a short time makes all battles feel pointless and tedious as you have nothing to gain from participating in them so all you're left with is walking around over flat-ish areas avoiding enemies looking for the end of the level (boring). Even the humour is sub-par compared to previous games. If you're looking for a decent portable Mario RPG, I recommend you look out for Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story instead.

Fully agree with this review. The game is enjoyable, but it is a pale comparison to it's earlier incarnations. Sad as I was really looking forward to this game for ages. I hope Nintendo listen to the coments. It's worth playing, but it could have been sooo much funnier, involving, and longer!

Completely agree. It's a shame to see what was such an in-depth franchise being diluted to appeal to the immediate-gratification-seeking masses.
